Jay Stowe is a Bay Area comedian with a unique skill for making the mundane funny and giving his audience a glimpse of the world that they've never seen before – and that they never expected to see. He has a tendency to push the limits of comfort, and that has helped him to quickly make his mark on the scene. In just a few short years, Stowe has had the honor of working with such giants as Robin Williams, Marc Maron, and Brent Weinbach.
Stowe's comedy career began in 2000 as a member of Fairfield University's resident improv troupe On the Spot. In four years with OTS, Stowe performed in over 200 improv and sketch shows and directed two improv troupes. He graduated from Fairfield with a minor in Theatre and moved from the east coast to Chicago to pursue comedy. He spent two years there honing his sketch and improv skills, taking classes at Improv Olympic, working with Second City, and performing with the sketch groups Misguided T.V. and Friendly Neighbors.
Stowe moved to the bay and took the stage for the first time as a stand-up in 2010 and has quickly become a Bay Area favorite and regular at major clubs throughot California.
